14 and 7-Week Classes Open for Registration at Cape Cod Community CollegeDecember 2, 2022
While the temperature begins the chill, students and future students at Cape Cod Community College can set their sights on warmer weather ahead with the opening of Spring 2023 classes. Applications are now being accepted for 14 and 7-week classes that start January 23, 2023 in a multitude of formats. Registration is open for any prospective student and all applications to the College are free and guaranteed to be accepted.
“With classes now open, we like to remind people that school doesn’t just start in September,” said Christine McCarey, Dean of Enrollment Management and Student Wellness at Cape Cod Community College. “Our Spring schedule reflects the needs of our students and prospective students. We have a great selection of online and HyFlex classes, in-person classes, and the option of taking either 14 or 7-week sections. Our goal is to give people flexibility so they can actually balance their lives with their educational goals, and nobody does it better than 4Cs.”
HyFlex classes are a specialty at the College, allowing students to decide on a day-to-day basis whether or not they attend in-person or via Zoom. Using unique in-class technology, faculty members are able to teach students attending in both formats at the same time with the same quality. The modality was developed and piloted by 4Cs faculty members and dramatically expanded in the Fall 2022 semester to allow the most flexibility for students. Cape Cod Community College is the only community college in Massachusetts using this technology as the “next wave” of remote learning.
New to the College in 2023 are a new “Blue Economy” degree that focuses on the intersection of sustainability and business development on Cape Cod and pre-Nursing and Dental Hygiene tracks that place new students on paths that better prepare them for application to their respective programs. These programs are steeped in local economic need with jobs immediately available, and both leverage classrooms in the new Frank and Maureen Wilkens Science and Engineering Center on their West Barnstable campus.
“The process to enroll at 4Cs for a January start is simple,” McCarey said. “If you’re new to the College, you start by filling out the free application. Once you’re accepted you’ll work with our Enrollment team to apply for Financial Aid, get connected to essential needs support that helps provide everything from food and transportation to textbooks and technology, then pick the program and classes that match your interests. We’re here to help every step of the way.”
